BIÑAN, Laguna—The Philippines took every other loss in the AVC Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship as Korea passed the host a 3-set beating, 25-23, 25-18, 25-12 within the class stage Sunday at Alonte Sports Arena right here.
AVC: the Philippines loses second directly as Korea stays undefeated
Korea, FIVB’s 10th-ranked group globally, is 2-zero in the type level and has a shot to take a top-4 seeding for the quarterfinals, while the Philippines dropped to zero-2. Hwang Minkyoung, confident the Koreans of the victory with an off-the-block kill, the Philippine protection had no hazard of receiving.
And although it changed into Hwang, who dealt the last blow, it became Korean movie star Kim Yeon-young who threw the early haymakers. Kim, who sat out Korea’s first games and played sparingly in the 1/3, surprised those in attendance when she stepped to the floor while her crew squandered a five-factor lead late in the first set.

Korea had a 24-19 lead when Jovelyn Gonzaga and Aby Maraño mixed for four straight points to cut 24-23. Kim then ended the primary set with a booming kill for Korea, and they did the identical inside the 2nd set with another electricity hit to stop the penultimate length. “If I were a participant and KYK got herein, I’d be shocked,”
said Philippine head coach Francis Vicente in Filipino. “KYK is one of the Global’s exceptional, and for me, it was an honor that she played that early in the sport.” “Still, even though we lost, I’m proud of them because we fought in opposition to one of the first-class teams inside the global, and you can see that we can win. It’s just that we’d falter. On the quit.”
Yang Hyo-jin had a sport-excessive 13 points to steer Korea even as Kim positioned up 12 factors, going 9-of-12 on her spike attempts. Kim Heejin also had double-digit scoring numbers while she scored eleven points for Korea. Jaja Santiago paced the Philippines with 10 points, even as Alysa Valdez and Gonzaga combined for 14.
A Brief Theology of Sports
Several years ago, I spoke at a camp for younger people. When the first group game time came, one of the leaders told a parable primarily based on Genesis 1-three. He described the joys of playing video games in the Garden of Eden, wherein the emphasis is on play’s pleasure. But in the future, the serpent entered the lawn and tempted the Eden-dwellers with the idea of factors. They gave in to the temptation and started retaining scores in their games, which caused all kinds of evils – opposition, lust for prevailing, dishonesty, anger, and fights. They misplaced the simple joy of play.
The leader told this parable to let the younger people realize they could be brought to non-aggressive games this week at the camp. There have been no points, winners, or losers, just the pleasure of playing. But there has been one serious problem –
video games have been completely and completely boring. Day after day, fewer and fewer of the younger humans showed up for the sports time so that there were only a handful of young human beings at the ultimate one. Is this a correct portrayal of a theology of sports? I do not suppose so. I want to give a brief and broad theology of marks. If you don’t like that name, you may think of it as, “Why we must watch the Super Bowl!”
History may be summed up in 3 words: advent, fall, and redemption. So when you’re looking at the theology of an issue, you need to invite: What is its relation to or mirrored image of creation, of the autumn, of redemption? In thinking about the problem of sports, I have added further phrases to extend our consideration – incarnation and salvation (each that is,
of the path, tied to advent, fall, and redemption). Creation – God should have made the whole lot gray and serviceable. Rather, He made an exceptional diversity of color, length, shape, smell, texture, sounds, and tastes. Why did He try this? He did so that the introduction might be a mirrored image of His person and, especially, His splendor. It is a masterpiece of features and shape. The advent is a piece of artwork.
Art is once in a while notion of as along with types: visual art – like painting, sculpture, architecture, and performing art – like drama, tune, and dancing. The Lord covered both visual and appearing artwork inside the advent. Visual Art: flowers, mountains, timber; Performing Art: oceans and rivers, planetary orbits, clouds. Some matters in creation combine the two.
