In her 2009 track Hard, Rihanna warned us. The singer advised all and sundry “that Rihanna’s reign might not permit up.” There was truth to those lyrics because Riri refused to take her foot off the gas to drop new Fenty Beauty merchandise.
A few weeks ago, the brand kicked off its “summer season takeover” with Body Lava’s relaunch in a brand new Trophy Wife color. And now, Fenty is coming into an entirely new makeup class with a group of bronzers. Eight new gold-plated compacts can be lost on April 5. “It took me over two years to create #SUNSTALKR BRONZER with each pore and skin tone in mind,” Rihanna wrote on Instagram. And for the marketing campaign, she posed in a chocolate-bronze outfit with contoured cheeks to in shape.
In standard, bronzer is not easy to save, particularly for tan and deep complexions. Some pigments skew too cold, and others don’t show up at all. Overall, there are not a ton of shade options on cabinets. Benefit Cosmetics increased its cult-favored Hoola Bronzer to consist of sun shades for medium and deep complexions. At the same time, brands like NYX and Anastasia Beverly Hills have committed to diversity within the (frequently omitted) bronzer category. But even then, eight sun shades are unheard of.
Of path, Fenty Beauty will be the brand to create switch-evidence powders with all of the right undertones, and we are excited to see exactly how these bronzers pan out on different complexions. If we can get appearance 1/2 as top as Rihanna in the image below, we are in for an actual treat. Now, all we need to complete Fenty’s face is a brow pencil and mascara. So, Rihanna, we’re ready…
